If, like me, you're a bit of a last minute lucy, then hopefully this post should help with a few Valentines ideas - if you're into it that is! To be honest, it's all too easy to leave things until the last minute these days, what with next day delivery and whatnot, so never fear! You've still got plenty of time to run out or order something! I'm not sure how many men read my blog, so I've tried to mix it up a bit as far as gifts go, with a little something for everyone (you can read my 'for him' post here, if you want some more ideas for the man in your life). Plus, you can always send this to your boyfriend/hubby if they struggle for ideas too, ha. I've gotta be honest, my Hubby and I never go wild on Valentines Day, but I do like to buy a card and a little something, so here's just a few budget-friendly options for those couples like us.
Let's start with the classic gift (and usually a big winner all round for both sexes) - chocolates! I'm sure most people enjoy a cheeky box of chocolates now and again, and Thornton's is always the place to turn when you want a nice special box. Another easy and fool proof option is perfume/aftershave. I was very kindly sent some gift ideas over from the lovely people at The Fragrance Shop, and I for one am loving them. 007 have just launched their first ever fragrance for women: 007 For Women Eau De Parfum* and it's the perfect Valentine's scent. For the man in your life, another from Hugo boss is Hugo Man Eau De Toilette*, a lovely, fresh, masculine scent that I know my husband will absolutely love. Candles - seriously, you can't go wrong with candles. The hubby and I are candle crazy, and always have one burning in the living room and the hallway, so we go through quite a few. We usually stick to the Yankee Wax Tarts, as that way we get to try loads of different fragrances - and then when we find one we love, we treat ourselves to the large jar. If you want something a little bit more special and different to Yankee, I noticed the other day that Next do a selection of luxury fragranced candles that would make the perfect gifts. At only £10, they look sleek and sophisticated, and are perfectly packaged for a Valentines gift. I treated myself to this one from the Antigua range as I really wanted to give their candles a go and see how they compare to Yankee - I must say I'm impressed!
