Benefit Fine-One-One | Review

Gotta admit it, I'm a sucker for a new blusher! Benefit are on point when it comes to their powder blushers (see my review of their Cheeky Sweet Spot Gift Set here), so when I received this cream blush stick for Christmas I was excited to give it a go!

3 shades mixed together to create a soft blush shade

Benefit Fine-One-One is a cream formula which they describe as 'sheer brightening colour for cheeks and lips'. Firstly, can we just take a moment to appreciate the packaging? It comes housed in the most beautiful rose gold stick with a twist up mechanism. I do love me a bit of rose gold. The product contains 3 colours within the one stick; a soft coral, a sheer watermelon and a pink champagne highlight. The aim of this product is to shape the cheeks with the 3 different shades. They advise to start at the apples of the cheek and glide upwards towards the temple (obviously with the highlight shade at the top) so you get 3 distinct lines of colour, and then blend upwards in a circular motion until they are all blended nicely. What I love about this product is that it's not too 'in your face'. It's very sheer on my skintone when blended properly and it just gives the healthiest glow. I like blending as above, and then adding a touch more of the highlight shade onto the tops of my cheekbones with my finger to finish off the look. Given that this is a cream to powder formula, the lasting power isn't as great as Benefit's powder blushers, but I don't mind that, I was never expecting 12 hours from a cream blush. As a cheek product I really like this, and think it will be great for travel as you get a blush and a highlight in one.

As for using it on the lips, I'll be honest and say I haven't even tried it. I've never been a fan of using these 'multi-use' products on the lips as I've had bad experiences in the past. My lips are naturally very dry, so I think a cream to powder formula such as this wouldn't bode too well.

Benefit Fine-One-One retails for £23.50 and is a great multi-tasker to have in the makeup bag, especially if you can get away with using it on your lips aswell!
