June Favourites

Hii babesssss. I'm back after what seems like an absolute age. I've just been so busy and have been away to Butlins with the little ones so I've just had no time to do any blogging. Although to be honest I may have got a little bit hooked on The Sims 4. #soznotsoz. Anyway, I thought a favourites post was the best way to get back into the swing of things....

Botanics 100% Organic Facial Oil | link
I had a little spell of not using a facial oil in my routine (I ran out) and boy did my skin know about it. So I picked up an old favourite again and my skin feels and looks so much better. I have a healthy glow back. This one is really thick without being overly greasy and feels so luxurious for the price. (£9.99)

SEVENTEEN Skin Wow Tan Liquid Glow* | link
I'm sure I've spoke about this before, but I've been loving this under my foundation to give a healthy tanned glow. I'm thinking it's pretty similar to Benefit's new Dew The Hoola, but with added shimmer.

Sleek Cream Contour Kit | link
I wanted to try this bad boy as soon as it was released and I wasn't disappointed. It contains 6 shades from light to dark and they're all so creamy and blendable. I'll probs do a full review with swatches soon.

Maybelline Baby Lips Pop Art Lip Balm in Blueberry Boom* | link
My last post was on the new Baby Lips collections of lip balms and glosses. My favourite of the bunch has got to be the Blueberry Boom lip balm. It's a vibrant purple with a sheer finish. Super moisturising and tastes of blueberry. Yummy!

Victoria's Secret Body Mist in Sheer Love | link
I'd heard so much about these body mists and have seen them all over Instagram, so when I spotted them on offer for £7.50 in Superdrug I thought I'd pick one up. Sheer Love is soft and floral and perfect for summer. I've been spritzing this every day and I love how they stick around. Great as an extra fresh scent.

What have you been loving this month?

p.s. fuming about the weather lately! Errrrm it's July tomorrow, where's the summer?

NEW IN: Baby Lips

Remember everyone going positively wild for Baby Lips? Well they're back with some limited edition balms and a brand new collection of lip glosses....

Baby Lips Moisturising Lip Gloss* | £4.99 | link

The new Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturising Lip Glosses* are available in 7 shades. These actually remind me of those lip glosses I used to get in magazines when I was about 7. A couple of the shades (the blatant 90's glitter ones) are freakishly similar to be honest, but then the others are certainly more wearable. They all feel moisturising on the lips without being sticky, and they're sheer enough to wear alone or on top of lipstick to add shine. They're very subtle but great if you want a moisturising sheen. Some of the names are a bit cringe. I'd say they're definitely aimed at the younger generation.

NEW Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturising Lip Gloss Collection

Shades from L to R:

05 Wink of Pink - Raspberry Pink with Glitter
10 Fuschia Flicker - Bright Pink with Glitter
15 Pink-A-Boo - Pale Pink (applies almost clear)
20 Taupe With Me - Pale Taupe
25 Life's A Peach - Peachy Pink
30 Pink Pizzaz - Candy Pink
35 Fab & Fuchsia - Raspberry Pink

Baby Lips Pop Art Lip Balms* Limited Edition | £2.99 | link

Baby Lips Lip Balms are some of my favourites. They are incredibly moisturising, smell amazing and come in some fabulous shades. They've recently released the Baby Lips Pop Art Lip Balms* in 3 shades and some very funky packaging.

Shades from L to R:

17 Grapefruit Zing - Deep Pink. Well pigmented. Feels very fresh. Citrus scent.
18 Blueberry Boom - Vibrant purple. Slightly more sheer than ^. Blueberry scent.
19 Bubblegum Pop - Pale Pink. Sheer, frosty finish. Bubblegum scent.

All 3 are gorgeous and are most certainly worth their £2.99 price tag! Be quick, they won't be around forever!

What do you think of Maybelline's newest releases?

The Instagram Accounts You Need To Follow

Instagram is by far my favourite social media platform. I just love how aesthetically pleasing it is and how much inspiration you can get from it. I follow a lot of people on my Instagram - personal friends/acquaintances, bloggers, beauty accounts, and just plain beautiful feeds. I just love it. I thought I'd share the love show you all a few of my favourite accounts on my feed at the moment...

The New Budget Mascara

Finding a gem on the highstreet (drugstore) is one of the best things in life (call me sad). One of my favourite budget mascaras is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. This was until I discovered it had a sister. The Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara*.

The main difference between this and the original is the wand. The newer wand is tapered so that you can get volume and thickness with the thicker end and get right into the hard to reach lashes with the tip of the wand. The formula has also had a bit of a change. It's infused with oil, making it glide onto the lashes and really hold the curl. I've heard people say how it's far too wet which makes it difficult to work with but I think it makes it easier. It can feel a little bit wet for a moment until it dries down a little, but once it's dried it literally does not move. I feel as though it's blacker than a lot of other mascaras I own, and although it's not marketed as a waterproof mascara, I would definitely class it as one. It's seriously a bugger to remove but I love that. See below for how it makes my lashes look after one coat...

Look at the difference! For £7.99, I think it's a great find and one you definitely need to try!

DIY Copper Home Accessories

A picture of DIY Copper Home Accessories Before & After
I'm on a bit of a copper rampage at the minute. Since getting our new kitchen and garage conversion, I've been adding bits of copper into our very grey/white colour scheme and I'm loving the results. I had a few silver accessories (Ikea Plant Pot, Kitchen Towel Holder & Fruit Bowl) that just didn't go and I thought instead of throwing them out I'd give spray painting a go. I also sprayed a large mirror we had in our hallway and I don't even have anywhere for it to go now. Safe to say I'm addicted! I used this spray paint from Amazon...

I think it's given all 3 pieces a brand new lease of life and I think they look SO much better! The spray paint was super easy to use and really fast drying. I can't wait to have a go at some more items!

The 5 Minute Face

I know I can speak for most people when I say that time isn't considered a friend on a morning. Whether your alarm didn't go off, you pressed snooze for the 6th time or you simply don't have 10 minutes away from children (basically me), there's never much time for a full makeup routine. I've put together some products that will give that 'awake and put-together' look in record time. I'm going with the following timings (geek);

Foundation: 1 Minute
Concealer: 20 seconds
Contour: 30 Seconds
Highlight: 30 Seconds
Blush: 30 Seconds
Brows: 1 Minute
Eyeshadow: 20 Seconds
Mascara: 30 Seconds
Lips: 20 seconds

I'm gonna cheat and count my primer (Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm, FYI) as part of my skincare routine here, as to be fair I do usually apply it straight after moisturiser and then let it sit for a while. For foundation, my absolute favourite of the moment has to be the L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation. It's the dewiest, lightest foundation ever, and it's great when you're in a rush as it requires little work. Just tap and go. For concealer, some days I may not even need it (bonus), but if I do, I'll go in with the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer. It's super creamy, easy to blend and works great on both under eyes and blemishes/redness. Now I'm not one for doing a full blown contour routine (mainly because I just can't), but obviously when I'm strapped for time I'm not gonna do a Kim K! I recently discovered the new Maybelline Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick* and I'm really enjoying it for a quick and easy contour/highlight. The v-shaped chubby stick is super creamy and has a matte brown contour on one side and a bright highlight on the other. I usually do one swipe of the contour under my cheekbones and a swipe of the highlight just above, then blend it all together with my blending sponge. Obviously, it's not majorly noticeable when it's done that quickly but it just adds some definition. One of my favourite blushes, the Bourjois Cream Blush in 04, is super easy to blend with the fingers and gives the most beautiful dusty rose flush to the cheeks.

Brows always take a while cos I can never get mine to look even remotely related. Bloody things annoy me truth be told. But anyway, my favourite brow product of the moment is the Smashbox Brow Tech To Go. It's got an angled brow definer pencil on one end, and a clear brow gel on the other. Great for a quick fix. Eyeshadow is something I often skip if I don't have much time, especially if I haven't got plans that day. But if I do want a little bit of something on the eyes, I love the Kiko Longlasting Eyeshadow Stick in Golden Beige. It's a gorgeous champagne shade that really brightens up the eyes and it doesn't budge all day! Mascara is usually quick... unless you need to sneeze, then you've gotta start all over again, paha! My mascara of the moment is definitely the Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara*. In my opinion it's the better looking sister of the original Lash Sensational! Review coming soon!

Lips are usually super quick, depending on what lip product you're opting for. I recently rediscovered MAC's Crosswires lipstick in my collection which I've been loving this week. It's a gorgeous bright coral red and looks great with toned down makeup and takes seconds to apply.

What products do you turn to when you're short of time?
