You may or may not know this, but there's been so much hype surrounding the Nivea Men Sensitive Post-Shave Balm recently. Why? You ask? Well, it's been dubbed the world's best PRIMER.
YouTube beauty guru NikkieTutorials first discovered this secret as she was staying at her boyfriend's and she forgot her moisturiser. She slathered the masculine scented balm on as a quick fix, before suddenly realising her makeup was gliding on so well and made her skin look flawless. Find out more in this video. Since then, the world went crazy for this bargain balm, the daily mail published about it (here) and even celebrities such as Kylie Jenner have said how they swear by the balm as a primer.
Naturally I wanted to try it for myself, so before buying any I actually asked my Dad if he had any in his stash, and guess what? HE ONLY DID!! I grabbed it, ran home, eagerly tried it and was instantly amazed at how well it worked. I went to Boots the next day and bought a fresh bottle and I've been using it every day since (approx a week or so now).
It's believed that the key ingredient is Glycerine, which acts as a binder and helps the makeup last longer. I can bet that all makeup brands are frantically creating primers containing Glycerine now! It's very liquid in formula and you only need the smallest amount (5p size). Simply using it as I would a primer (after my regular skincare routine), I like to use circular motions and buff it into the skin with my fingers until it becomes slightly tacky, before going in with my foundation. It's honestly AMAZING! I really didn't think I'd love it as much as I do. First of all, I love how it makes applying foundation so much easier. Secondly I find it seems to give my skin an airbrushed feel, blurring out imperfections and covering pores. Lastly, it makes my makeup last ALL DAY, something that I've never been able to achieve (and I've tried plenty of primers). Don't be put off by the very masculine (but nice) scent, it fades after about 10 minutes. I can't sing it's praises highly enough! YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PRODUCT!
Nivea Men Sensitive Post-Shave Balm retails at just over £5 in most high street stores such as Boots & Superdrug, however I found it in a value pack in Home Bargains for £4.75(ish) and also contained a deodorant and shower gel.
PSST, It's currently HALF PRICE in Tesco. (like you need it to be any more of a bargain than it already is!).
