Autumn/Winter Yankee Candle Wax Melts

It's no secret that I'm a massive fan of Yankee Candle, especially their wax tarts. It's a great way of testing out different scents without spending a fortune, and I often find they smell stronger than the large jars too.

Every year I treat myself to some of the new A/W scents, with a couple of old favourites thrown in.  I get mine from eBay. They were on buy 5 get 1 free so I only picked up 6 this time as a few of the new scents were out of stock. Hopefully they'll restock them soon and I'll grab a few more Christmas ones. P.S. If order some, don't forget to use your cashback apps!

Glittering Star (new for 2018)
Icy Blue Spruce (new for 2018)
Winter Wonder (new for 2018)
Winter Glow (one of my absolute faves)
Autumn Pearl (new for 2018)
Season of Peace (another firm winter fave)

What's your favourite scent?

Recent Beauty Additions

Well we're not even 3 weeks into 2018 and I'm already stressed to the max! It's been the most hectic few weeks. Whole family illness paired with back to school & back to work means I've barely had time to think, let alone write a blog post. New Year's resolution = sit down and actually write a post. So here I am!

Negativity aside, I was seriously spoilt rotten at Christmas, so I thought I'd pop all my beauty bits into a post and show all you beauty lovers in the hope it might brighten up this very cold and dull January.

HOW CUTE are those mini MAC lipsticks please? Expect to see a lot of these beauts in upcoming posts!

Recent Foundation Buys

So in one of my recent posts I talked about candles being my guilty pleasure. Well it seems I have more than one. Please don't judge, send help! I just have this thing with trying new foundations. It really is all about the base for me. I do buy foundation more than any other makeup item, but thankfully none of these were ridiculously over priced so I don't feel too bad about it.

A Body Shop Haul

The-Body-Shop-Autumn-Winter-2017-Haul

I feel like The Body Shop doesn't get half as much credit as it deserves. They do the most amazing skincare, and their shower goodies are to die for. They're even bringing it when it comes to makeup! Over the last few months I've picked up a few things so I thought I'd bunch them together into a haul. I was very kindly invited to The Body Shop Middlesbrough back in August to check out some of their latest ranges, and then I also attended a Body Shop At Home Party with my girl Ella! So here's what I picked up...

NEW IN: Maybelline. Spring 2017

If you're not aware, I'm part of the Maybelline's #MaybellineSquad, basically meaning I'm lucky enough to get sent a selection of their new releases every couple of months. Now, I'm in no way expected to post about them, but to be honest I'm just a massive fan of Maybelline, always have been, so I often find their new releases are exciting enough to post about. Plus, the lovely ladies are kind enough to send me all of these wonderful goodies, the least I could do is showcase them on my blog. Feast your eyes on this lovely lot...

Firstly, there's 2 new palettes to get stuck into, one of which I own nothing of it's kind. A Lip Contour Palette! What is this sorcery?  Look how pretty...

Maybelline Lip Contour Palette in Blushed Bombshell* | £9.99 | link

How stunning? The Lip Contour Palette in Blushed Bombshell* has the ability to create 3 different lip looks, using the prime, line, colour and highlight system. I watched Rachel Leary's recent video where she uses this palette and it's so dreamy! I haven't had a proper play with it yet but I'm out partying Friday and Saturday this weekend (I knoww, wild child - not!), so I'm definitely gonna give it a whirl.

The other palette is the new Master Camo Colour Correcting Palette in Light*. I love these kind of palettes as I get quite a lot of redness especially around my nose.

Maybelline Master Camo Colour Correcting Palette in Light
Maybelline Master Camo Colour Correcting Palette in Light* |£9.99 | link

Again, I haven't had change to try this yet, but I've had a little feel and they feel ultra creamy and blendable.

Maybelline Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer in Fair* | £4.99 | link

Maybelline have also released a creamy concealer crayon! MY FAVOURITE KIND! The Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer in 10 Fair* reminds me very much of my all time favourite concealer (Soap & Glory Kick Ass Blur & Brighten Concealer Crayon). I've got such high hopes for this badboy and think it will be perfect for brightening up the under eye area & sharpening the brows etc.

They've also released some new lip products to their already massive range. The ones that have excited me most have to be the new Baby Lips Color Balm Crayons*. Now I think there's 6 to choose from and I have the shade Sugary 10, which is a beautiful watermelon pink, which I suspect will be a handbag favourite of mine come springtime.

Also in their new lineup is another shade to add to my Color Sensational Matte Nudes*. The shade Brown Sugar is very on trend at the minute, but admittedly it's one that might take some getting used to. Along with that, I got one of the new Color Stay Shaping Lip Liners* in the shade Brick Red. A true, brick red lip liner is always good to have in so I'm looking forward to giving this a go.

Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color Dual Lipsticks

And lastly, there's a couple of the Super Stay 24 Dual Lipsticks*. You know the kind, the balmy primer at one end and the liquid lipstick at the other. I got the shades Steady Red-Y and Pink Goes On. The red looks perfect for Valentine's Day, even though Martin and I don't usually acknowledge that - ha!

All in all I think Maybelline have smashed it for their Spring 2017 releases. I look forward to seeing what's next.

What I Got For Christmas 2016

Well I for one love What I Got For Christmas posts, so I thought it was time I put one up too. When I laid all my presents out on the table I realised how ridiculously spoilt I'd been by my friends and family. I got some absolutely amazing presents and I'm beyond grateful for every single one of them.

The Beauty Bits

Santa was pretty kind in the beauty department this year. I got 2 new Real Techniques brush sets; The Bold Metals Spotlight Essentials, which contains the Tapered Blush, Triangle Concealer, Tapered Shadow & Exclusive Brush Roll, and The Your Picks Set, which contains 5 of their best selling brushes (Buffing, Contour, Stippling, Deluxe Crease & Base Shadow). This is an absolutely fantastic little set, and, FYI - It's now on sale for only £16.66 in Boots online only! #you'rewelcome

In terms of makeup, I got the Benefit Dolly Darlin' Gift Set (which I sneakily blogged about before Christmas, lol). It contains 3 full size and 1 sample size of Benefit's best sellers (the Porefessional, Hoola Bronzer, Roller Lash Mascara & Gimme Brow). I also got MAC Twig Lipstick, which I think might already be my favourite MAC Lipstick. It's so pretty and perfect for this time of year. I also got a little sample size of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

A girl can never have enough Soap & Glory. So to add to my collection I've got the Simply The Zest set (now only £5 in Boots) & the Whole Glam Lot, which was this year's big half price gift set. I also got the Nip + Fab Dragons Blood Fix Set, which contains Dragons Blood Fix Plumping Mask 50ml & Dragons Blood Fix Cleansing pads 80ml. I've been wanting to try this range for a while so Im looking forward to giving them a good go. As my Mam knows I'm a huge fan of the Britney Spears Fantasy Perfumes, she picked me this Circus Fantasy Perfume gift set. I also got a massive bag of Christmas Lush products, as well as the Zoella Gingerbread Bath Fizz gift set.

The Fashion Bits

One of the main things I asked Santa for were these gorgeous Rose Gold & Ash Grey Hi Top  Leather Converse. I absolutely adore them. By far my favourite trainers now. I also asked for this ASOS Suede Shopper Bag in chocolate brown. It's the perfect size for me for every day. And lastly, I always like big t-shirts for bed, so this Hogwarts t-shirt in a size 20 is perfect. I love Primark for their Harry Potter clothing, can't get enough!!

The Jewellery Bits

After getting bitten by the Pandora bug on my birthday, I asked Santa for a few bits from there, and he didn't disappoint. The big bearded ball of love!! I got 2 rings; the Heart Stacking Ring and the Princess Tiara Ring. They both go together so well on my middle finger. To add to my charm collection, I got the Vintage K Charm, and the Virgo Charm. Both classics, both gorgeous. As well as Pandora, I also got some gorgeous dainty jewellery from H&M off my bestie, including some gorgeous rings, a necklace and a bracelet.

The Home Bits

It's no secret that I'm a massive candle lover, especially Yankee Candle. So naturally, I got a few for Christmas. I got a large jar of my all time favoutite Black Cherry, and I got 2 mediums in a Christmas gift set, which has Snow in Love & Cosy By The Fire. Both gorgeous scents, so I'm looking forward to lighting those. I also got a few cute little slogan candles which I probably won't light as they're more for decorative purposes.  I also got this gorgeous little wooden hanging sign off my bestie which says Do All Things With Love. Love it.

The Other Bits

My friend Louise surprised me with the hard back illustrated version of Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone, and then low and behold my brother got me The Chamber of Secrets. So now I've got a collection to finish. They are so gorgeous, definitely need to keep the kids away.
As well as all of those fabulous gifts, I also got a shit load of chocolate and some craft beers.

I did riduculously well this Christmas didn't I!! If you wrote a post on your Christmas pressies be sure to leave the link in the comments below, I'd love a nosey.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and all the best for 2017.

Lush Christmas Haul

Ahhhh hello Lush. It's been a while. I popped into my local Lush recently and errrm, went a bit wild. I'm obsessed with their bath bombs at the best of times, so gimme a limited edition Christmas selection and I'm yours. I needed a new lip scrub, but the rest were just because....

Father Christmas Bath Bomb | £3.75 | link
Santasaurus Reusable Bubble Bar | £5.95 | link
Shoot For The Stars | £4.25 | link
Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub | £5.75 | link
Mistletoe Bath Bomb | £4.25 | link
So White Bath Bomb | £4.25 | link
Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb | £4.25 | link

When I got home I noticed they'd popped a little extra something in the bag with a little 'pay it forward' card. They said it was their act of kindness and they just wanted me to pass on the kindness. How lovely. I got the Outback Mate Soap, which smells absolutely divine. I rarely buy soaps from Lush but the one's I've had I've loved.

Have you had any of the Lush Christmas range?

A Little Beauty Haul

Well hellooo!! Firstly I just want to apologise for my absolute sheer blog neglect over the past month or so. We've been getting our garage converted into another living space, aswell as getting a new kitchen/diner and preparing for a weekend away to a family wedding in London (which was amazing btw). Everywhere has been upside down and I've been so busy painting and dealing with the little ones etc that I just haven't had chance to do any blogging, as by the end of the day when I do get a spare minute, all I wanna do is lay on the sofa and eat snacks! Anyway, the house is getting back to normal now so I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. Why is it so hard when you've had a little break? Anyway, what better way to bounce back than posting a cheeky little beauty haul....

A Spring Lush Haul

So Spring has officially sprung!! Yay! For Day 2 of #SpringWeek on this here blog, I thought I'd show you some products I picked up at Lush recently. I'd seen all of the wonderful new Easter & Mother's Day products at the event a few weeks ago so I'd been meaning to pop in and pick a few more bits up. I didn't only pick up the newest collections though, I just went for whatever caught my eye at the time. I usually go for Bubble Bars aplenty, but I still have a couple of bubble bars from previous hauls, so instead I picked up some bath bombs and a bath oil (something I've never tried)...

To Me, From Me | A Haul

Sometimes a girl's gotta treat herself yes? Well to be fair I had a decent amount of Boots points so this haul was pretty pain free on the owld purse strings! I've been saving my Boots points for a while now as I've been planning on treating myself to a high end foundation.

Lush Valentine's 2016

I know what you're all thinking...'didn't she just post a massive Lush haul last week?'. Well, yeah I did, but so? ha! That was all Christmas and Boxing day stuff. Obviously when a new collection comes out I just have to have a little look. And when I say look, I mean purchase. I didn't manage to get any Lush Valentine's products last year, so I knew this year I just had to get my grubby little mitts on some. It's a good one!! I picked up 4 things....

Prince Charming Shower Cream - Apparently this was in the form of shower gel last year, and I've never tried a shower cream, so I'm excited to see how I get on with this. It smells amazing anyway, hello marshmallow root & vanilla pod! mmmm

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar - I had my eye on this last year but never managed to get my hands on it. I'm slightly disappointed as I'm sure it had little stars in and looked prettier, plus it was only £3.25 last year and now it's £4.25. Cheekyyyy! To be fair, it's still adorable, and I do love Lush bubble bars so I know it'll perform well!

Lover Lamp Bath Bomb - I think they must completely change their bath bombs every year. This one is so pretty. It's bright white and has lots of red hearts running through it. It has chocolate orange notes, and apparently the hearts contain buttery moisturising properties! Run me that bath!!

The Kiss Lip Scrub - I actually needed a new lip scrub anyway, so this was perfect timing. I will forever repurchase Lush Lip Scrubs, nothing does the job as well as these do. This one contains edible hearts, how cuteee!

Get yourself down to Lush and pick up some of these limited edition cuties before they're gone for another year.

Mini Collective Haul

I was reorganising all of my makeup into my brand spanking new dressing table and Alex drawers last week when I realised I had a few new bits I hadn't mentioned on the blog yet so I thought I'd pop a little collective haul up. To be honest, I've massively neglected my blog recently. It's mainly due to the fact that I don't get 2 minutes to myself until about 7.30pm when the babies are in bed, and by then all I wanna do is eat snacks and watch Netflix #youknowhowitis. I've also been really busy lately getting new bedroom furniture so all my stuff has been a bit upside down and then on Thursday I had laser eye surgery so I had a couple of days recovering from that. Anyway, let me tell you about the newest products to enter my stash...

Last month I was very kindly sent a little parcel from Natural Collection at Boots, and in that was one of their moisture shine lipsticks in the shade Berry Sorbet*. I'd been meaning to try their lipsticks for a while as I love their blushers and wanted to see how the lipsticks compared. Oh Em Gee. Seriously, for £1.99 this lipstick is amazing. It's the prettiest deep raspberry shade and is perfect for this time of year. I'm not a massive fan of the strange almond shape of the bullet, but looking past that I'd say this is fast becoming one of my favourite lipsticks. It's so creamy and moisturising and leaves a beautiful sheen on the lips. I loved it so much I ran out and picked up another one, this time in the shade Fig Leaf: A muted brown nude that I think will go great with a deep smoky eye. The next thing is another lipstick is probably the one I was most excited about. My Mam & Dad went to Dubai at the end of October and asked if I'd like them to bring me anything back. The only thing I could think of was a new MAC Lipstick, ha. I'd been eyeing up Crosswires for a while after seeing Estée rave about it and knew it had to be my next MAC lippie. When they arrived home I instantly fell in love with it. Definitely expect a full review soon.

A few weeks ago I wrote about how Freedom makeup was now available in Superdrug and I put together a little wishlist of the things I was eyeing up from the site (here). I ended up caving and getting a couple of bits in my recent Superdrug order. The first is the Brow Pomade in Soft Brown which I've heard is a decent dupe for the ABH Dip Brow, for a fraction of the price. Review coming soon! I also picked up on of their Pro Glow Powders in Roar, mainly because it looked too pretty not to! As they were on 3 for 2, I scouted the website for another item of similar price, and then suddenly remembered about the Maybelline Color Drama Velvet Lip Pencils and how I was yet to try them! I know, shocker!! I went for the shade Minimalist, a universal pale pink which looks perfect for everyday. The last thing I picked up (on a whim in Wilko one day) was the Collection Speedy Highlighter in the shade Pearl Sheen. I've heard so many great things about this highlighter and for £3.99 I just had to get it!

I haven't got round to trying any of these yet as everything's been getting organised, so I can't wait to have a play around!

What have you picked up lately?

A Little Lush Haul

Ahhh Lush! How do you do it? I literally cannot walk past one of your stores without your charming scents and rainbow themed aesthetics dragging me inside for a closer look sniff. I popped into Lush Middlesbrough on Friday and had a good old perve on their new Christmas goodies. Yes, I wanted it all but I managed to resist and come away with just 3 items. I'd been wanting to get my hands on some Lush skincare for a while, and I kept hearing a lot of good things about the Ultrabland Cleanser (£11.95 - 100g) so I decided to give that a go. I always tend to go for balmy, oily type cleansers that will remove my makeup whilst leaving my skin soft and supple, so this one looks right up my street. Look out for a full review after I've given it a good trial. Obviously I had to get a couple of bath-related products, so I went for The Experimenter Bath Bomb (£3.95), which I think was brought out in the Summer when they opened their new flagship on Oxford Street, and the Bah Humbug Bubble Bar (£3.65), which of course is new for Christmas.

Really looking forward to using these 3. Next on my list: Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb & Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar!

A Birthday Lush Haul & Review

Sooo I turned 28 last week (wahhhh), and of course, it would't be a birthday without a few Lush products. My Hubby picked up a few things for me (from the kids), and he managed to pick 4 new products that I hadn't tried yet. Round of applause for you Martin! Anyway, here's what I got...

'Do you want to have a bath bomb? Do you want to splash and play?' - yes, that's what the label read. Not gonna lie, I love a bit of that. As soon as I plopped this big ball of blue deliciousness into my bath I was greeted with a massive fruity fizz which turned the water into a magical sparkly turquoise. I was slightly worried that the silver sparkle would linger on the body after the bath and get everywhere, but it didn't - bonus.

Grapefruit Oil - Uplifting & Refreshing
Rose Oil - Balancing & Restorative
Neroli Oil - Uplifting & Toning

Definitely my favourite out of the 3 here. The scent is just pure perfection and it's on that lingers on the skin for hours afterwards. It's kind of a strange one to pin down, as it's really fruity and fresh, but it's also warm and woody at the same time. As you can probably guess, it turns the bath a bright orange and has a subtle sparkle. It really made me feel so relaxed and calm, and it made my skin feel so silky and smooth. I used it alongside the Milky Bath bubble bar, so I had some extra bubbles too. Probably the best bath I've ever had!

Sandalwood Oil - Uplifting & Soothing
Olibanum Oil - Toning & Relaxing
Cassie Absolute - Comforting & Fruity
Ho Wood Oil - Woody & Floral

Aw, how cute does this look? As soon as I opened this bath bomb I instantly smelt the liquorice (which I bloody love), so I knew I was gonna like it. As well as the liquorice, it also smells really fresh and citrussy, and it turned the bath a muted yellow shade whilst leaving my skin feeling clean and soft.

Cinnamon Leaf Oil - Warming, Spicy & Stimulating
Bergamot Oil - Uplifting & Cleansing
Sicilian Lemon Oil - Uplifting & Cleansing

Profits from each and every one of these soft floral and liquorice-scented bath bombs will help fund equipment to satellite tag many endangered hen harrier chicks born in the coming years.

'Don't cry over spilled milk - bathe in it!'
As I said above, I used half of this bubble bar alongside the Yoga Bath Bomb & I've saved half for my next bath. It was honestly the best bath I've ever had. It made a huge amount of bubbles to say I only used half, I could have probably used a third. (FYI, never use a full bubble bar in one sitting, you can always get at least 2 or 3 baths out of even the small ones if you use them properly). Again, the scent is hard to pinpoint. It's really calming and creamy, and I can definitely detect a hint of chocolate and citrus in there. I just think this looks utterly adorable and I'll certainly be getting this again.

Skimmed Milk - Softening & Soothing
Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter - Softening & Conditioning
Orange Oil - Refreshing & Juvenating
Patchouli Oil - Exotic Earthy Aroma

SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN is a brand that have really upped their game recently, especially since their major rebranding. They're always at the forefront of every new trend and their products are such great quality and super affordable. I recently received an amazing surprise parcel from the lovely people behind the brand, containing some of their best selling products. To say I was shocked is an understatement - such a lovely surprise! I just wanted to give you a little run down of the products I received, and also give a quick mention about their new Bloggers Network. This week, SEVENTEEN are launching a network for bloggers, which allows us to upload blog posts in order to gain a wider audience, view their noticeboard, gain access to exclusive new content and be the first to see new releases. I've already signed up and it looks like it's gonna be a great community. You can take a look here
Anyway, onto the goodies...

I actually wrote a rave review on this product on the blog back in May (here) and it has become an absolute staple in my makeup bag ever since. It's such an amazing product that I don't think gets half as much credit as it should. I reviewed the fair kit, so I'm excited to try the Medium one when I'm fake tanned a bit. The formula of this is so creamy and pigmented that it blends with ease without looking orange or dirty. With it's sleek, black packaging and generously sized mirror, it's the perfect handbag accompaniment.

Perfect for summer, this shimmer brick gives a lovely bronzed glow to the cheeks. It's really pigmented, so a little goes a long way with this. I've also heard it can be used as a pretty decent eyeshadow palette, so I'll be looking forward to giving that a go.

Skin Wow Primer*. £5.99
Another product that I've had in my stash in the past and really loved. It makes a lovely base under makeup (or mixed in with foundation) to give an overall glow, aswell as dabbing on the cheekbones as a subtle highlight. A great product to have in my makeup bag, especially as the whole 'strobing' trend is hot at the minute.

I have sooooo many brow kits just like this one in my collection, and I have to say this is definitely one of the better ones I've tried. It contains a wax, a powder and a highlight shade, aswell as a pencil (added bonus). It's a pretty universal medium brown, which suits my brows nicely as it doesn't run too warm like a lot of these brow kits tend to.

Fastly becoming my holy grail mascara. This is such an amazing mascara which is up there with the likes of Benefit's Roller Lash. It lengthens and volumises and just gives the lashes that wow factor. My Mam also has this mascara and I noticed a huge difference in her lashes. Two very happy ladies here!

I haven't actually tried these nail polishes yet, but the shade Irish Coffee is definitely gonna be next to grace my nails!

Seriously, thank you SO much to the lovely people at SEVENTEEN, and if you haven't tried any of their products yet, then I suggest you tottle off down to Boots and grab them - especially the mascara!

Cute New Bits From Home Bargains

H O M E  B A R G A I N S - I love youuu! Seriously though, can't beat a good bargain shop, and Home Bargains is certainly my favourite out of the MANY we have in Middlesbrough. I actually have Sophie from avenue de sophie to thank for this little haul (credit where credit is due), as it's this post that made me want to run and see what cute bits I could find in my local HB. Thanks Sophie!

The first things I picked up were these Vintage Eerin Mason Jars - one with a traditional gold lid and one with a green polka dot lid and matching straw. I thought the traditional one would work well as a vase for some nice small flowers, whilst the other one would look great with a smoothie or milkshake inside. (Yes, I'm mainly thinking about pretty Instragrammable pictures with everything I bought here, I won't lie). I think these were about 59p each, absolutely bargainous. The next thing I picked up was this adorable Tea Mug. Again, think this just looks fab and can be used as either a drinking mug or a lovely little window ledge decoration. They also had other designs including coffee ones, but obviously as a tea lover I had to go for tea. This was £1.50. I know!

Lastly, for £1.59, I got this 4 pack of Glass Milk Bottles with coloured straws. How adorable? I've been after something like this for ages and think this will be a great addition to my kitchen. Can't wait to drink a little milkshake from these!

Have you found any home bargains lately?

If you're not following me on Instagram, I'd love you to have a peek here

Recent Haul - Primark & Superdrug

Along with my recent MAC Lipstick Haul, I also picked up a few other bits from Primark & Superdrug that I thought I'd pop into a post. Last week I went to the Primark in Newcastle which is sooo much bigger than my local Middlesbrough store. Saying that, I think I did quite well as I only picked up a few bits. The first thing I picked up was this gorgeous Monochrome Gingham Scarf (£5). I know it's only August and I felt strange buying a scarf in the Summer but I couldn't resist and to be fair I've probably needed it a few days already! Bloody British Summer!! I grabbed these Hogwarts Knee High Socks just because I love anything Harry Potter related and I do love a good pair of knee highs to chill out in at night. I also picked up some hair clips as now I have a bob I can no longer put my hair up into a messy bun so I need some smaller clips to pin it back out of my face when I'm in one of those moods.  I love the little floral designs on these and for the price I don't care if they break within a week. I was looking all over for the Primark Beauty Blender Sponge but I couldn't see any, but I did find this Foundation Blending Sponge which is a smaller version with a brush handle so I thought I'd give it a go as it looks a good size for concealer. For £1.50 its certainly worth a dabble.

Onto Superdrug, I was just having a little browse as you do, and I noticed their Vitamin E Skincare range was on buy one get one half price. I needed a new exfoliator anyway, so I thought I'd give the Gentle Oatmeal Exfoliator a try, along with the Facial Oil, as I do love a good oil on the owld mush! I then popped over to Barry M as I'd been wanting to try their new Speedy Quick Dry Nail Polishes. They were on 2 for £7 so as it would have been rude to only choose one, I went for the shades Get Set Go - a vibrant, deep pink and Pit Stop - a pastel lilac/grey . Looking forward to giving them a go.

What have you picked up recently?
