Could this be MAC's most popular lipstick? I reckon it's up there! I finally got my hands on Velvet Teddy - don't ask me why it took me so long! I've always had this irrational fear of matte lipsticks, don't really know why, as one of my alltime faves is a matte (hello Rimmel Kate Moss 107). Anyway, I finally decided to treat myself and ohhhh was I pleased. Guys, it's bloody GORGEOUS. Literally the perfect brown nude.

MAC Rebel Lipstick
![]() |
| MAC Rebel Lipstick | £15.50 |
This lipstick has been on my wishlist for (no lie) about 2 years and I really don't know why it's taken until now to get my hands on it! MAC Rebel. Look at it. JUST LOOK. It's the most perfect deep, purple, berry shade. But it's like no other berry lipstick I own. It's just so unique and I can see now why it's such a cult favourite. It looks quite scary and not very wearable in the bullet, but once it's on the lips it's just stunning. It brightens up the complexion and even makes my teeth look whiter. It's not too dark or gothic. It's just beautiful. I've been wearing it loads lately, both day and night.
Rebel is a Satin formula, which has actually become my favourite formula. They're semi-matte, but feel super comfortable and creamy on the lips and tend to last so much longer than Cremesheens. The lasting power of this lipstick is the best of all my MACs. It wears really evenly and leaves behind a gorgeous berry stain that lasts through the night. It's a bit of a bugger to remove but that's certainly not a bad thing. We all want our lipsticks to last don't we?
Now I know you're all gonna run out and buy this. And if you're not, why not?

MAC Twig Lipstick

Oh MAC, you stole my heart from day one. I have 11 MAC lipsticks in my collection now (although it's bothering me that I'm at an odd number, so I think I'm gona have to treat myself to another, paha). The newest in my collection is this beauty, and I'll be honest, it's possibly jumped to the top of my favourites list!! Twig is described as a soft muted brownish-pink, which is basically how I would have described it. It's one of those shades I think everyone needs to own. It's so flattering and the perfect nude for this time of year as it's a bit darker than other every day nudes that I'd choose all year round (e.g. Brave). This one is perfect to achieve that 90's lip trend. It's a Satin formula, and I have to say I've always gone for Cremesheens, but this is now my 3rd Satin and I think I'm converted. Satins are pretty much a semi-matte and feel so creamy and comfortable on the lips.

Look how pretty? I've been wearing it pretty much every day since I got it at Christmas, and even on a few nights out, too. FYI, it goes amazingly with a smokey eye.
Hmmmm, which one to get next?

MAC Crosswires Lipstick
MAC Lipsticks are most definitely one of my weak spots! I just can't get enough of their vanilla scent and fantastic formulas. It's been a while since I posted a MAC lippie review, so I thought I'd pop up my newest addition to my little collection: MAC Crosswires.
Crosswires is a cremesheen formula (my fave), and one I never hear much of on blogs and Youtube etc. The only person I've ever heard rave about this is Estée, which is why I had it on my stalklist for a while. I've never been one for red lipsticks, but this is the perfect red/coral/pink hybrid which just works for me. I find it's the perfect lipstick for those who are afraid of going too bold, but still want something bright. It's wonderfully creamy and comfortable on the lips, but obviously being a cremesheen it doesn't have the best staying power. A lip liner helps make it last a little longer, but it certainly needs reapplying after food or drink. It's heavily pigmented and bright, but not overly so, and think it's gonna get a lot of use in the Springtime.

MAC Lipstick Collection
My absolute favourite type of post to read (& write) are MAC lipstick posts, and I'm thrilled to finally have enough to be able to write a 'collection' post. I currently have 8 in my collection, and I know to many of you that might seem like a tiny amount, but considering I only got my first one last summer, I don't think I've done too badly. I have 4 cremesheens, 1 satin, 1 lustre, 1 frost & 1 amplified.
Creme Cup - Cremesheen
Soft, blue toned pink
The lipstick that made me fall in love with MAC. Creme Cup was my very first MAC lipstick. I'd always wondered what all the fuss was about, until I tried this and I became hooked.
Peach Blossom - Cremesheen
Warm, peach toned pink
Speed Dial - Cremesheen
Blue toned mid pink | slight, very subtle shimmer
Brave - Satin
Brown toned pink nude
Syrup - Lustre
Plum toned mauvey pink
Costa Chic - Frost
Bright, orange toned coral | slight shimmer
Saigon Summer - Cremesheen + Pearl
Frosted, bright orange
Girl About Town - Amplified Creme
Vibrant, deep fuchsia
Next on my list... Crosswires.
I'd love to see your MAC lipstick collections, or any you think I need in my collection.

MAC Brave Lipstick
MAC lipsticks - a girl's prerogative! Today I've got one of the newest members of my MAC lipstick collection, and one that's perfect for this time of year. MAC's Brave rose to fame last year when the world went crazy for the Kylie Jenner lip. Sales of Brave went through the roof, along with some other firm favourites including Velvet Teddy, Twig and lip liners Soar & Whirl. I didn't jump on the bandwagon at the time, but last time I was in MAC I was having a little swatching sesh and fell in love with Brave, so naturally it fell into my bag (in exchange for money).
Being the first Satin formula of my collection, I was a little apprehensive as to how I'd get on with it, but as always, I was worrying for nothing. Satins are semi-matte, so they feel creamier than a matte formula and still have the matte looking finish. I have dry lips so I tend to shy away from full-on mattes. I'd describe Brave as a muted pink with brown undertones, making it the ideal everyday nude lipstick for medium complexions such as mine. Being Satin, I've found this wears longer than my favourite Cremesheen formulas - probs 3 to 4 hours if I'm not eating or drinking.
Overall, I'm really pleased with this lipstick and know I'll get plenty of use out of it, especially in the Autumn/Winter when I'm wanting my nude to be a little darker. I must admit, I'm also eyeing up the Soar Lip Liner as my next addition to go alongside it. Some might say I'm late to the Kylie party, I say WHO THE HELL CARES?
What do you think of Brave?

MAC Costa Chic Lipstick
Before we wave goodbye to Summer for good, I wanted to show you all the most Summery lipstick in my collection. MAC's Costa Chic is definitely my lipstick of the Summer. It's a stunning bright, bold coral-pink that I have no doubt will suit a lot of skintones, especially those with a tan. It's a frost finish, which I admit did put me off buying it at first as I worried about looking like I've stepped out of the 90's. I had no reason to worry though, it does contain frosty shimmer, but it's actually really flattering once on the lips. Costa Chic is highly pigmented, so one swipe is all you need to achieve a bright, bold lip. The frost finish means it's not too drying and feels quite moisturising on the lips, but not as creamy as a cremesheen. What I love about this lippy (apart from the shade, obv), is the fact that it fades really evenly, leaving behind a lovely stain in it's tracks. I've been loving this shade on a day to day basis with simple, neutral eyes ever since I got it a couple of months back. I'll be sad to leave it behind during Autumn/Winter.
Have you tried Costa Chic?

MAC Girl About Town Lipstick
Yep, another MAC Lippie. This time, in the form of the brightest lipstick in my entire collection. MAC's Girl About Town is a lipstick I've heard so much about, so when I seen it at the CCO York for £10, I grabbed it without even really looking at it.
Girl About Town is a deep, fuchsia pink and is an Amplified Creme Formula, which means it's super pigmented and opaque in just one swipe. This is an absolutely beautiful lipstick with a gorgeous, creamy formula, and have seen it look amazing on so many people, but as I very rarely wear lipsticks this bright, I'm finding it really hard to get used to. I've worn it twice so far (both evenings), and got a shock every time I looked in the mirror. I know it sounds daft, but I'm the same with bright reds. I think I can cope with a bright red/pink if they're really sheer, but because this is so amplified it's just scary. I always feel like I don't suit them, so I shy away and go for more subtle pinks/corals. Saying that, give me a bright orange and I'm all over it. Strange. I'm not gonna give up on it though, as I think I need to conquer my fears! Both times I've used this, I've noticed that the lasting power is fantastic, it only really fades when eating/drinking and even then it does so evenly and leaves a nice stain behind.

MAC Lipstick Haul
This time last year I had just 2 MAC lipsticks in my collection and I desperately needed wanted more. Fast forward a year and I now have 8 in my collection, with the newest 3 making their blog debut today. I'm having a moment with MAC and find myself constantly browsing blogs for lipstick reviews and finding swatches on Pinterest. There's just something oh so special about MAC lipsticks that no other brand can compete with. Anyway, let me show you the newest shades in my collection...
Girl About Town
Amplified Creme
I'd actually picked this up a month or so ago when I went to the Cosmetics Company Outlet (CCO) at the York Designer Outlet. They had a few lipsticks for £10 as opposed to the usual £15.50 and this one in particular stood out to me as I'd heard a lot of people raving about how amazing it is. To be honest I'm still undecided as to whether or not this suits me. I think it's just because of how amazingly bright and pigmented it is, maybe a bright lip is just something I need to get used to.
Costa Chic
Frost
A lipstick I've seen and read so much about! It seems to be THE coral lipstick to have in your collection and I've been lusting over it for quite some time. Given that I don't own any other Frost finishes, I was slightly scared I was gonna have a 90's glitter lip going on. But I was wrong, Costa Chic is a stunning bold, coral that I think will suit most skintones.
Brave
Satin
Another formula that I didn't own in my collection. Brave is a shade I've heard so much about recently, with the whole Kylie Jenner lip trend kicking around. I was stood for ages trying to decide between this and Velvet Teddy, but given that I suffer from really dry lips I thought the Matte finish of Velvet Teddy might not sit right. I'm so glad I chose Brave, it's the perfect dark pink nude that has a slightly matte finish without being drying like a matte. I know I'm gonna get a lot of wear out of this one.
Keep your eyes peeled for full reviews on all 3 of these in the near future...

MAC Speed Dial Lipstick
![]() |
| MAC Speed Dial Lipstick. RRP £15.50 |
Yep, I'm back again with another MAC lipstick. I just can't get enough. If I see a post on one or a MAC lipstick collection I just can't ignore it! MAC's Speed Dial lipstick is another one I very rarely see mentioned on other blogs. It's a blue toned. natural (neither bright nor nude) pink which I think would suit most skintones. It's a cremesheen formula which means it's lovely and creamy and has great pigmentation. As with most cremesheens, with it being so moisturising, it does mean that the lasting power isn't great (1-2hours tops), but as it's so easy to reapply I don't mind so much. I always seem to forget about this lippy and find myself reaching for more subtle tones like Creme Cup or Peach Blossom, but I reckon as the summer approaches I'll be choosing this a lot more.
NOTE: MAC Lipsticks RRP for £15.50 but Fragrance Direct have a good few in at the moment for £13.75 so a bit of a saving if you're after a new shade.

MAC Peach Blossom Lipstick

That's right. I'm back with another MAC lippie review, this time in the form of Peach Blossom. A shade that is seriously underrated and one that I hardly ever see mentioned. A cremesheen formula, it's a hard one to pinpoint, but I'd say it's a peachier, slightly warmer toned and even cremier version of Creme Cup (which was my favourite until I found this). They both look very similar side by side, but once on the lips it's a different story. The pigmentation is spot on with this shade, and it's the perfect 'my lips but better' colour - great for everyday and absolutely amazing when teamed with a smokey eye. I'd say this would look fantastic on just about every skintone, but especially on those with a lovely summer glow.
If you haven't had a swatch of Peach Blossom I suggest you run along to your nearest MAC counter and see for yourself just how pretty this is. Thank me later.
