Foundations are definitely my most guilty pleasure. When there's a new release I always wanna give it a go, especially when said new release promises a dewy radiance. Having dry skin means my favourite foundations are lightweight, dewy and weightless, and this one seemed to tick all the boxes. I know cushion foundations are big in Korea, so I was really excited to try L'Oreal's newest offering. I love me a bit of Korean beauty!

What's In My Holiday Makeup Bag?

Yep, I'm currently in stress mode. Going on a holiday abroad with a family of 6 is mega stressful, especially with a 1 year old who doesn't know the meaning of sitting still and being quiet for more than a minute at a time. Arghh! Anyway, we're going tomorrow (Thursday 19th), which means I'm pretty much sorted on the packing front. Surprisingly, choosing the contents of my makeup bag was actually one of the least stressful parts of preparing for my trip. I wanted to keep it minimal, with a glowy, bronzed base with a few different lip options. Here's what I settled on...

Who can resist a new Rimmel/Kate Moss collab? NOT ME! I recently picked up one of their new Sculpting & Highlighting Kits. Now I know there's been SO many 'contour kits' out recently, but I liked how this one had a blush in aswell. It looked ideal for travel and it just looked so cute for Summer, so naturally I wanted to try it out and share my thoughts...

Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation

A picture of NEW Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation

I've never been one for matte foundations. I'm a dewy base girl through and through, but at the same time I've been wanting to find a matte foundation that's gonna last the day, especially now summer's coming up. When I heard about the new Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation, I was intrigued at the fact they claim it's a soft-matte HYDRATING offering. The main reason I've always strayed away from mattes is that they cling to my dry patches and are basically just terrible for my dry skin. I decided to pick this up and give it a try and I've been pleasantly surprised.

Given that it's a fuller coverage, matte foundation, the formula is a lot thicker than my usuals. It's a gel foundation with a whipped texture. I've found it easier to apply with my fingers or a stippling brush. I tried with a blending brush and a sponge but I didn't like the finish. That aside, I find it really comfortable on the skin and it gives a 'matte not flat' finish. It doesn't cling to dry patches and does a pretty good job at sticking around. What I love most about this is how soft it makes my skin feel. It lives up to it's 'velvet' name without feeling too heavy. One thing I did notice is that the shade range was pretty poor, which I know will pee a lot of people off. I went for the shade 21 Nude, which is a little on the dark side, but fine for the summer months. I think for £7.99 this is a great foundation, especially for those who have drier skin.

Have you tried Maybelline's latest offering?

Korean Skincare | Tony Moly I'm Real Sheet Masks

Korean skincare is having a bit of a moment recently, and tbf, it's for good reason. The Korean's believe in layering products, and their skincare routines have double the steps that our usual routines consist of. In all fairness, those girls always have the most beautiful glowing skin so it clearly works. Sheet masks in particular have become so popular of late, so I took to the internet to see which Korean brand was top, and most importantly, affordable. (I ain't paying £10 for one mask let me tell ya). I found a lot of reviews claiming that Tony Moly were an amazing brand for sheet masks, and I found the full set of 11 masks on Amazon for £10.99. (NB. NOW DOWN TO £8.48 here). At £1 a mask I ordered them instantly and they arrived the next day! I bloody love Amazon Prime! Don't worry, I'm not gonna show you a picture of me wearing one of the masks as I wouldn't wish that vision on anyone, lolllll! They're like you're usual sheet mask - decent sized eye, nose and mouth holes and really moisture filled! I've tried all 11 masks so I could give you my views, and boy are they good!!

A Little Beauty Haul

Well hellooo!! Firstly I just want to apologise for my absolute sheer blog neglect over the past month or so. We've been getting our garage converted into another living space, aswell as getting a new kitchen/diner and preparing for a weekend away to a family wedding in London (which was amazing btw). Everywhere has been upside down and I've been so busy painting and dealing with the little ones etc that I just haven't had chance to do any blogging, as by the end of the day when I do get a spare minute, all I wanna do is lay on the sofa and eat snacks! Anyway, the house is getting back to normal now so I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. Why is it so hard when you've had a little break? Anyway, what better way to bounce back than posting a cheeky little beauty haul....
